Additional Comments:

The present status of this discovery concerning optimal bone health is based upon independent contract laboratory basic science evidence.

The discovery included the dose-related effect of protocatechuic acid on human osteoblasts to produce bone.

In addition, a second study showed that human mesenchymal stem cells treated with PCA caused them to convert to bone-producing osteoblasts. This evidence supports a US patent application.

This basic science evidence forms the hypothesis for protocatechuic acid’s support for bone health.

This basic scientific evidence forms the foundation for future studies concerning fracture healing as well as a metabolic bone diseases; i.e. osteopenia and osteoporosis.

We intend to report our findings as our discovery proceeds concerning PCA’s effect on bone health.
